[Devs] Fix to most Piper issues

Piper Update Repair Instructions

If you’re experiencing problems after running the Piper updating process on your computer kit, follow these instructions to repair the game.

STEP 1 - Open the Web Browser
Click on the globe icon at the upper left of the screen.

STEP 2 - Open the Piper Community Webpage
Find the Piper Community icon. It will load community.playpiper.com.

STEP 4 - Click on the Repair Archive Google Drive Link
This link contains the file you’ll need to install the fix on your Piper Computer Kit.

STEP 5 - Download the Repair File to the Computer Kit
Click on the Download link in the center or on the upper right of the window.

STEP 6 - Minimize the Webpage
Click on the minimize button on the upper right of the window.

STEP 7 - Open the File Manager
Click on the File Cabinet icon in the top left of the screen…

STEP 8 - Click on Downloads to find the file
On the left side of the window click on the Downloads folder.

STEP 9 - Extract the File
Right-Click on the Piper Repair file and select, “Extract Here.”

STEP 10 - Run the Self Repair file
Double-click on the Self Repair file to open it.

STEP 11 - Select 'Execute in Terminal’
On the context menu that opens, click on, “Execute in Terminal.”

STEP 12 - Wait for Terminal to Close
The terminal window will run for 3 minutes or more depending on your internet speed. As it runs, it may not look like it’s doing anything - but it sure is! Near the end, you’ll see lines of text scrolling. This window will automatically close when the process is finished.

STEP 13 - Play!
Double-Click the Piper icon on the desktop to launch the game!

One comment here - the four lines tinkering with DNS in resolv.conf actually broke the script for me - they broke DNS… The script only run fine when I commented them out using vi (shiver!).
